Jeff has been with NCM since 1993. He works as an automotive consultant with 20 Groups in automotive, truck sales, and truck leasing and has had the pleasure of serving four terms on the NCM Board of Directors. Jeff began his automotive career in 1981. After graduating from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, he joined a large Kansas City based mega-dealer.
With his background as a controller, he brings a combination of analytical skills and operational experiences to the meeting room. He enjoys facilitating and directing 20 Group discussions that not only identify important measurements and benchmarks of performance, but also the stories behind them. Believing the numbers only tell half the story, the discussions of how to change them and where to focus are the most important.
- Understanding the numbers
- Identifying financial opportunities
- Facilitating discovery utilizing the composite
- Accounting perspective
- Process analysis
- Building relationships
- Creating an expectation and a culture within his 20 Groups
Client profitability is a measure of Jeff's success.
All 20 Groups review the composite numbers and discuss the challenges a business must face and resolve, but Jeff’s groups add another element. It is the culture within Jeff's groups that elevate them to a fraternal caring of members, businesses, and families, creating an atmosphere that fosters lifelong relationships. Jeff would like to call out one of his current groups that he is very proud of, the OLDS group, which is now an acronym for Only Leading Dealers Survive. The work ethic within Jeff’s groups is one that fosters volunteer onsite visits to member facilities, as well as manager-specific departmental meetings. Jeff and his groups' mantra is to challenge, care for, and commit to each other and their development as individual people.
