Client profitability is the measure of Tony's success.
Tony worked with 20 Group member Mike Terry, general manager at Peltier Subaru in Tyler, Texas. Peltier is a smaller volume Sunbelt Subaru dealer. Mike came to Tony's 20 Group hoping to address his overall dealership operations, with an intense focus on his used vehicle department. After some exploration into the issue by Tony and the other 20 Group members, problems were found in used vehicle stocking practices, daily management, and overall focus in the used vehicle department. Tony, Mike, and the group made action plans to address stocking levels, daily management processes, pricing, marketing, and expense controls as soon as Mike returned to his dealership from that first 20 Group meeting. After only two months, Mike's year over year departmental profitably increased by 204.3%. The dealership went from a negative ($97,459) to a positive $101,624 for that same time period year over year. Their total used vehicle gross improved 250.9% year over year, their retail GPU improved 21.5% year over year, and their volume improved 78.6% year over year. Mike continues to be a part of Tony's 20 Group and focuses on improving other areas of his operation with Tony's and the group's help.
