Manager, Quality Assurance

Position Overview

The Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible for the definition and delivery of overall quality assurance strategy and activities, maintaining engagement in all phases of the software development life cycle and ensuring the provision of high-quality products and deliverables to promote client satisfaction.    

Core Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Team Leadership
  • Ensure and maintain the quality of all client products
  • Provide leadership and management to the QA team, including delegating tasks, providing feedback and assigning projects
  • Provide human resources management to the QA team, including recruitment, selection, training, discipline and professional development
  • Design, document, communicate and implement process changes
  • Managed and create team test strategy  


Education, Experience and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field
  • 10-12 years’ experience in quality assurance or software development
  • ISTQB certification is an asset
  • Expert knowledge of QA best practices, including test strategies, test planning, test case creation, test metrics, root cause analysis, preventative actions and QA automation
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and the Software Development Life Cycle
Key Skills and Accountabilities:
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Written and verbal competency in French an asset
  • Lead and manage high-performing teams
  • Coach and mentor team members using refined leadership abilities
  • Resolve conflict and promote harmony among teams and leaders
  • Develop and create work plans aligned with high-level, strategic goals
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all organizational levels
  • Assess impacts across complex interlinked systems
  • Effectively communicate technical information both written and verbally
